# Explore your ontology

> Browse business records, follow their relationships, and inspect their history and sources.

1. Open [Ontologies](https://app.cord.nyc/ontologies) with your project selected, then choose your ontology.
2. Select an object type to see its records. Use **Search objects** to find a record.
3. Select a record to open its details, then choose a tab below.

| Tab         | What you can inspect                                                  |
| ----------- | --------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Properties  | The record's field values.                                            |
| Links       | Related records. Select one to open its details.                      |
| History     | Changes to the record over time.                                      |
| Datasources | Source data and snapshots associated with the record, when available. |

## See how the ontology connects

Use the toolbar controls:

| Control         | What it shows                                                   |
| --------------- | --------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Schema          | Object types, their properties and identifiers, and link types. |
| Schema graph    | Object types and the relationships between them.                |
| Knowledge graph | Individual records and their links.                             |
| Data lineage    | How data flows into the ontology.                               |
